Yes, thank you Steven! Love the concept of being a “happy warrior” because there will always be more work to do!

01:06:03
I agree about the happy warrior line steven...thank you for sharing that! I immediately thought about how frustrated and negative I get in our field often, and being a happy warrior through all of the racial injustice is a nice theme to hold on to.

01:06:28
Well put Caroline, it cuts both ways.

01:11:43
Caroline the beginning of you talk reminded of this great book: The sum of us: What racism costs everyone and how we can prosper together by Heather Mcchee- I

01:44:15
@Maria NASW-CA is beginning multiple initiatives to address some of this, and I certainly welcome anyone who is interested in joining! We are launching a social work policy consortium to build the movement around SW policy/advocacy work, we are looking at implementation of training initiatives to raise the capacity of social workers to serve in public office. And, we are working with national level critical race researches to bridge education to practice.

01:44:45

1. When workng with people of color see them as individuals, learn what happened to them. Stop seeing them as diagnosis 2. Be proud of our identity as people of color.
